Paste it in a monospace font, otherwise the QR code will be distorted.

The PNG is always dark on white, whatever the Invert option.

About the ASCII QR Code Generator

Turn any text, link, Wi-Fi network or contact card into a QR code drawn with text characters. Pick Unicode half-blocks for a compact result or pure ASCII for maximum compatibility, then paste it into a README, a terminal, a code comment or a plain-text email. Everything runs in your browser: your content is never sent to a server.

FAQ

Can an ASCII QR code really be scanned?
Yes. The tool always adds the 4-module quiet zone required by the QR standard and uses a real error-correction level (M by default). Display it in a monospace font at a readable size and any phone camera can read it.
What is the difference between the three styles?
Half-blocks (▀▄█) are the most compact and closest to square. Full blocks (██) are simple and robust. Pure ASCII (##) uses only 7-bit characters, so it survives any text channel, but it is much wider.
Why is there an Invert option?
Terminals and dark editors show light text on a dark background, which reverses the QR code. Turn on Invert to print the light modules instead, so the code reads correctly on a dark background.
